Chloe is on a mission.\u00a0 She is writing a personal narrative\u00a0about her\u00a0summer. She is also having to relive it through the process of journalling it.\u00a0 I must reveal to you the title of this is”My Favorite Summer Memory”. Surprising, yes?\u00a0<\/p>\n
This is her choice.\u00a0 Her teacher gave her an option to write about something else.\u00a0 We will support this although it brings up ‘old moments.\u00a0 With her questioning heart this evening came many blank moments for me as far as dates, times, places etc.\u00a0 I have written in my own journal of the events as I perceived them.\u00a0 I contemplated, \u00a0then invited Chloe to saddle up next to me and listen to the retelling through my eyes.\u00a0 There were tears…for us both.\u00a0 We only made it through part of the experience as that seemed the most gentle.\u00a0\u00a0 We agreed we are the greatest of partners in all of this.\u00a0 She enjoyed thinking about the moments of who was there with her, how WE(the adults spent our time) while she was in the hospital.\u00a0 We seemed, as a unit to watch the 11:00 news.\u00a0<\/p>\n
She rememberd that she\/I watched Leno.\u00a0 This was appropriate because of the midnight rounds.\u00a0 We were left alone from midnight till 4am most nights.<\/p>\n
Childrens Cancer Society have been a beautiful support Team for Chloe.\u00a0 They sent us 4 tickets to an event Chloe was so interested in.\u00a0 It’s called Wolf to Woof.\u00a0 Its held at the Forestry Center until January .\u00a0 We attended last Sunday for “Doggie Palooza”..oh my gosh….dogs from every walk of life were there.\u00a0 We didnt take Ivey cause she isnt cooperative onleash with other dogs.\u00a0\u00a0 Colin, Chloe and I enjoyed learning about war dogs, many breeds of wolves, our roles in history and best of all?\u00a0 We came across a Dove Lewis(A local 24 hr hospital for animals)\u00a0table which held their latest newsletter.\u00a0 I had heard Chloe and her pal “Jake”(A golden retriever who makes miracles happen through his work as an animal assisted therapy dog and his owner Patty) were to have their picture in it.\u00a0 I reached for the newsletter and found it ASAP.\u00a0 Chloe was thrilled!!!\u00a0 She saw her pic\/article with she and Jake and felt like a star.\u00a0 The woman in the booth asked if she could shake Chloe’s hand.\u00a0<\/p>\n
We gathered treats for Ivey that day and took home a sense of doglove that Sunday, bigger than we thought possible.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 We envision all who read the article touched by the magic Jake brought to a little girl in a dark room during a dark time.\u00a0 Jake isnt a big talker…he’s a big listener.\u00a0 “And I like him” says Chloe.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n
Chloe wants you all to know “I am staying up through the night to write my personal narrative”.\u00a0\u00a0 This must be a high value she holds.\u00a0 Of Course I won’t let he stay up till wee hours to write.\u00a0 But she will beleive she did because of the energy\/focus we gave it.\u00a0 Freedom to express.<\/p>\n
We are also hopeful our dear friends baby went home today.\u00a0 All was looking favorable.\u00a0 Thanks to many thoughts, prayers or whatever you call your ‘wishes’.\u00a0 Thank you.<\/p>\n
Sometimes, in a moment we give away our greatest fear.\u00a0 And by doing so, it leaves us.\u00a0 I think Chloe and I said our final goodbye tonight………….to the tumor.\u00a0 Friday is her MRI.\u00a0 Feel the wings………See her soar….hear the unravelling.<\/p>\n
Thank you for the healing.\u00a0 It’s over. She is Powerful.(special thanks to kathleen for this mantra of faith)<\/p>\n
