<\/p>\n

What a great day we had on Saturday.\u00a0 <\/span>Colin was scheduled to sing, with his jazz choir, at Oaks Fun Park, so we all made our first trip there in over a year.\u00a0 <\/span>Pre-surgery was the last time.\u00a0 <\/span>That day we just went on a family outing and had quite a bit of fun seeing the sights, riding some rides and having some snacks.\u00a0 <\/span>It was a typical day at the fun park, with one exception.\u00a0 <\/span>Chloe wasn\u2019t tall enough to ride the looping roller coaster with her ASD, Ron.\u00a0 <\/span>She was a bit disappointed after we stood in line for about ten minutes, only to be told, I\u2019m sorry sweetie but you\u2019re not tall enough.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Saturday we left Colin to hang out with his friends before the concert, and Dana, Ron and Chloe took off to see what was new.\u00a0 <\/span>What was new was the sign must have shrunk because the arrow and line on the sign at the coaster showed she was right there.\u00a0 <\/span>Well, maybe a half inch too short but who\u2019s counting?\u00a0\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/p>\n

It was off to the ticket booth.\u00a0 <\/span>Two tickets please.\u00a0 <\/span>Dana was opting for Terra Firma, holding all our loose things, as Chloe and I went to the line.\u00a0 <\/span>The two people in front of us were the last two before they closed the gate.\u00a0 <\/span>That\u2019s good; we get the front car on the next ride.\u00a0 <\/span>Almost right, the girl attendant moved one person and opened up row two for us on the ride.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/p>\n

We walked through the gate.\u00a0 <\/span>Excuse me sweetie, can you come here a moment.\u00a0 <\/span>The attendant pulled Chloe aside to measure her.\u00a0 <\/span>Oh so close\u2026 Chloe stretched every centimeter of her backbone\u2026 Okay!\u00a0 <\/span>Yes!\u00a0 <\/span>We were on!\u00a0<\/p>\n

The shoulder restraints came down and Chloe looked little in there but she would stay in place just fine.\u00a0 <\/span>We were off with a snap to the vertical.\u00a0 <\/span>We caught a view of Dana just before the first drop.\u00a0 <\/span>Chloe grabbed my coat sleeve.\u00a0 <\/span>That\u2019s where her hands would be the entire 90-second ride.\u00a0 <\/span>Down we went and it took Chloe\u2019s breath away.\u00a0 <\/span>Oh no!\u00a0 <\/span>I\u2019m never going on this again!\u00a0 <\/span>Of course she was smiling the whole time.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/p>\n

Around a sharp curve and then back up to prepare for the loop.\u00a0 <\/span>Oh\u2026..!\u00a0 <\/span>Here we go!\u00a0 <\/span>Chloe never saw the loop as her head was almost in her lap and we were headed up again.\u00a0 <\/span>Not again!\u00a0 <\/span>Nope, but another sharp curve and it was back to the exit point.\u00a0 <\/span>When the car stopped she finally let go of me.\u00a0<\/p>\n

We jumped out, with tickets still in hand.\u00a0 <\/span>They forgot to ask for them in the measuring confusion.\u00a0 <\/span>So, Chloe looked at the Ferris wheel that is caged and does individual loops and she yelled, let\u2019s go on that!\u00a0 <\/span>But make sure they take the tickets this time she ordered. So we did, and they did.\u00a0 <\/span>Dana stuck to the ground still, but that was fine.\u00a0 <\/span>We had someone on the ground to yell and wave at.\u00a0 <\/span>Although Chloe didn\u2019t want to go fully up-side-down we did plenty of rockin\u2019 and rollin\u2019 by controlling the break inside the car.\u00a0 <\/span>She was about to rip my arm off again.\u00a0 <\/span>She couldn\u2019t stop talking about it after we were back with Mama.\u00a0<\/p>\n

When it was over it was time for Colin to sing so we hurried over to the stage.\u00a0 <\/span>Chloe told him of her adventures and he couldn\u2019t believe it.\u00a0 <\/span>Especially the caged ride!\u00a0\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/p>\n

The performance was good as usual but they were stuck between the bumper cars and the shooting gallery so hearing them was a challenge.\u00a0 <\/span>They really do need to learn how to get their opera projection going.\u00a0 <\/span>Good but quiet voices.\u00a0 <\/span>I\u2019m sure they will develop as time goes by.\u00a0 <\/span>I know Colin can project judging by all his funny antics while alone with us.\u00a0<\/p>\n

After the show Colin and his buddies stayed to ride more rides.\u00a0 <\/span>The three of us went for a little drive around the area and stopped at a couple estate sales.\u00a0 <\/span>Then we hit DQ for a couple malts and a blizzard.\u00a0 <\/span>We were back in the car just as the rain came.\u00a0 <\/span>Colin was ready for us soon after we returned to the park for him.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Earlier in the day we were at Uncle Kevin\u2019s grand reopening of Bike n Hike, had some hotdogs and heard about him getting sprayed by a skunk that morning.\u00a0 <\/span>Later that night we were at a friend\u2019s house warming potluck where one of us ended up with food poisoning.\u00a0 <\/span>But those are stories of another time.\u00a0<\/p>\n

All in all I think everyone had a great time in this pre-summer jaunt.\u00a0 <\/span>Many more to come!\u00a0<\/p>\n
