We had hopes of Chloe only spending one night in PICU.\u00a0 <\/span>We had those dashed as she is just not progressing, as we would like.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Her pain meds are way up, her temperature is still elevated, she can\u2019t eat anything for awhile yet\u2026 only tube feedings, her spirits are shattered, she\u2019s bored out of her skin, her sleep is intermittent and there\u2019s not too much else to report.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Dave and Ramona stayed last night until about 2 A.M. and Sandy spent the rest of the night.\u00a0 <\/span>In the middle of the night Chloe had to be reminded to breath.\u00a0 <\/span>After getting some combination of meds she had labored breathing for a while.\u00a0 <\/span>Not something we want.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

She did sleep fairly well last night with the extra meds to help.\u00a0 <\/span>During the day she was able to sit up and watch a movie with Dana.\u00a0 <\/span>She has been for walks only a couple times a day.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Her incision site itched so much the other day that she actually had it bleeding.\u00a0 <\/span>So they have put a bandage on the site to keep her off of it.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/span>\u00a0We still have an infection someplace and the cultures aren\u2019t complete yet.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

All in all we are all wiped out and ready to see some marked progress in her recovery from this surgery.\u00a0 <\/span>Her strength needs to come back and her weight needs to come up before any other treatments can be administered.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Dana had her first night away from the hospital in two weeks last night.\u00a0 <\/span>We had a real meal in a real restaurant.\u00a0 <\/span>She actually slept about six and one half hours.\u00a0 <\/span>We returned to the hospital precisely at the right time, as was dictated by our director, Chloe.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Today I made pork chops, potatoes and applesauce.\u00a0 <\/span>We ate our meal on real plates with real silverware\u2026 in the family room of the ward.\u00a0 <\/span>It\u2019s some part of normality.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Bear with me for a moment please.\u00a0 <\/span>I need to vent.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

An interesting thing happened to me at church today.\u00a0 <\/span>I\u2019ve been down this road more times than I want to admit.\u00a0 <\/span>One thing is sure to happen anytime you are facing a life-threatening situation.\u00a0 <\/span>You will have someone tell you of a tragedy where a friend or relative died.\u00a0 <\/span>It doesn\u2019t matter that there is no relevance to our situation.\u00a0 <\/span>They just think they need to tell their story.\u00a0 <\/span>That actually happened to me Friday night.<\/span><\/p>\n

Another thing happens all to often.\u00a0 <\/span>Someone will come out of the woodwork with a miracle cure.\u00a0 <\/span>They are so sure this is going to work that they push so hard they push themselves off a cliff.\u00a0 <\/span>Today\u2019s event.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

There are two things I won\u2019t stand for.\u00a0 <\/span>One is someone, other than God, trying to push religion on me.\u00a0 <\/span>The other is someone with the IQ of a doorknob, and, certainly not a PHD anywhere near their name, trying to push a sure cure on me and basically telling me I\u2019m killing my loved one unless I use their MLM product.\u00a0 <\/span>Do they really believe I would put the life of a loved one in the hands of a Multi-Level Marketing Scam?\u00a0 <\/span>Get real!<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

We have far too many people who love Chloe, and know how to conduct themselves around a life-threatening situation, for me to let one bozo make me feel guilty.\u00a0 <\/span>I welcome anyone who may want to share some information with me and leave it at that.\u00a0 <\/span>But please, No Pushers Allowed.\u00a0 <\/span>Chloe is on enough drugs.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Thank you to all you wonderful friends and family. You help make this journey somewhat bearable. \u00a0<\/span>And thank you, but no thank you to the very few who have not a clue.\u00a0 <\/span>It\u2019s late, I\u2019m tired and I had to vent.\u00a0 <\/span>Blessings to you all.<\/span><\/p>\n
