Chloe is resting fairly well this evening. She had to endure yet another tube down her throat. This one is a direct feed tube into her stomach. In order to find if it\u2019s positioned correctly they take an x-ray. She will be having her second one about 12:30 pm. Dana spent some time working her legs and massaging them with lotion. Then she lightly dry brushed her legs and scratched her back. This seemed to be a hit with our lil\u2019 one.<\/p>\n
Dana was able to get home for a short visit with Ivey and to dump spoiled food. We aren\u2019t there long enough to eat most days and there isn\u2019t a fridge at the PICU. When we finally get to the 3rd floor ward we will have more freedom of choice as far as food is concerned.<\/p>\n
While at the house Dana came across the letter Chloe wrote to President Obama. Most of you know that she is a Make-a-Wish kid and has been able to join in some of the local events held by the organization. Some of you may not know what her \u201cOne Big Wish\u201d is that will be granted soon. Chloe wants to meet President Obama and it is mutual now. She has 20 kids in front of her that will be going but she will get there in time. By then she will be well on her way to continuing her active kids self.<\/p>\n
She was also able to meet some of the cast of Twilight and New Moon. When they heard her wish\u2026 the wish of a ten year old\u2026 they were amazed and she became the hit of the party. The other 10 kids that were there all had similar wishes\u2026 to go to Disneyland. Not our wide-awake Chloe. They huddled around her like she was the star\u2026 as she is.<\/p>\n
So here is the letter she wrote while 9 years old, almost 18 months ago:<\/p>\n
Dear President Barak Obama,<\/p>\n
My name is Chloe Watts. I am 9 years old. It was awesome to find out you won. Your win was by a longshot. You have made history. Everyone will remember the election of 2008.<\/p>\n
Many kids are in the hospital at this very moment. I was one of them last summer. That\u2019s another story though. Most of the kids\u2019 parents don\u2019t have enough money to pay for their child\u2019s medical expenses. I would be so grateful if you lowered the cost of all medical procedures. I\u2019ll bet you one million dollars that you love your girls. What if you ran out of money and couldn\u2019t pay for your girl\u2019s medical bills? That would be a big embarrassment, wouldn\u2019t it?<\/p>\n

Dana is so right. This is pertinent to today. I was happy she found it and brought it to me to put here for all to see. It speaks volumes about Chloe. She\u2019s a pretty big soul.<\/p>\n
