Hello everyone.\u00a0 <\/span>Here\u2019s an early to do\/ not to do list that bears repeating.\u00a0 <\/span>Please don\u2019t take this as a hand slap.\u00a0 <\/span>It\u2019s just some guidelines that really should be followed for anyone going through a life-threatening situation.\u00a0 <\/span>Keeping the right people in mind is all important.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/p>\n

The family is very fragile right now so that\u2019s why I need to set some guidelines and ask that you honor them, please.\u00a0 <\/span>In order to keep this short I won\u2019t be giving many reasons.\u00a0 <\/span>If you want the reasons please feel free to email me with your phone number and I\u2019ll call you back.\u00a0 <\/span>Or, if you have my cell phone number, you can call me directly.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Not to do:<\/p>\n

    \n
  1. Unless you have to please do not call the room.\u00a0 There is way too much going on in there during the day that the phone is a distraction from what matters.\u00a0 <\/span>I know you are concerned and want to help.\u00a0 <\/span>You can help most by letting Dana breath. \u00a0<\/span>So, unless she has asked you to call about something specific, please refrain from calling.\u00a0<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    2.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 If you do get the opportunity to speak with the family there are things I ask that you remember.<\/p>\n

      \n
    1. Stories about someone you know who had a similar situation are inappropriate.\u00a0 <\/span>Please don\u2019t bring them up.<\/li>\n
    2. This is all about Chloe.\u00a0 <\/span>Your own stories may be very relevant to you but they can be very upsetting to the family.\u00a0 <\/span><\/li>\n
    3. We know what the effects of treatments are.\u00a0 <\/span>We would rather not have anyone telling us that this will really be bad or anything of the sort.\u00a0<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

      3.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0People like to share their miricle cure in these situations.\u00a0 <\/span>If you stand on one foot in the middle of a pasture full of green sheep you will have the gods of wool protecting you from all evil.\u00a0 <\/span>Drink this water and you will be cleansed of all toxins, thus making your body the ultimate healing apparatus.\u00a0 <\/span>The list goes on and on.\u00a0 <\/span>Unless you have a PHD in some form of medicine please keep the \u201cout of the box cures\u201d to yourselves.\u00a0 <\/span>If you can\u2019t do this then just email it to me, in a very non pushy way, and I will investigate the possibilities.\u00a0 <\/span>Believe me, I\u2019ve heard most of them.\u00a0<\/p>\n

      4.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0Please don\u2019t drop by the hospital room without first clearing it thru the website.\u00a0 <\/span>I monitor all emails and respond to those that I feel need a response.\u00a0 <\/span>I can\u2019t respond to all of them.\u00a0 <\/span>There are many, and most every one of them has been great.\u00a0Visits are welcomed but just check first unless you’ve been asked in advance.\u00a0 Thanks.<\/p>\n

      To Do List;<\/p>\n

      1.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0If<\/span> you have an idea for fundraising I would be happy to hear it.\u00a0 <\/span>I will then put you in contact with an organizing body to set the ball rolling.\u00a0 <\/span><\/p>\n

      2.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/span>Send a nice card to Chloe with a cheery message.\u00a0 <\/span>Be upbeat, that\u2019s what we want and what will help her spirits and healing most.\u00a0 <\/span>She knows what she is going through.\u00a0 <\/span><\/p>\n

      3.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/span>Pray for miracles.\u00a0 <\/span>Chloe needs them.\u00a0 <\/span>The family needs them.<\/p>\n

      4.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/span>Before you speak with a family member please consider what you say carefully.\u00a0 <\/span>Everyone is fragile at this state.\u00a0 <\/span>Upbeat, happy talk is much better than downtrodden soulful pity.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/p>\n

      All in all 99.9% of everything everyone has been doing has been wonderful.\u00a0 <\/span>That .1% can ruin the moment though.\u00a0 <\/span>Even those, however, are well meant.\u00a0 <\/span>Blessings to you all!\u00a0 <\/span>Ron<\/span><\/p>\n
