Well, we had hopes of going home today but reality got in the way.\u00a0 <\/span>Chloe woke up with little to no energy.\u00a0 <\/span>All morning was the same.\u00a0 <\/span>When I spoke with Dana I suggested she ask the Doctors about a transfusion as the red cells were way down.\u00a0 <\/span>As you have it, the doctor came in and said, \u201cI think we are at the point we need to transfuse her.\u201d\u00a0 <\/span>I\u2019ve been around hospitals WAY too long.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Of course this put the kibosh on us getting her home tonight.\u00a0 <\/span>She is still planning on being home sometime during the weekend.\u00a0 <\/span>So I\u2019m going over in the morning to start cleaning the house!<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Sometime after 5 pm they hung the unit of blood for her.\u00a0 <\/span>Chloe was grossed out so they put a pillowcase over the pole so she wouldn\u2019t have to look at the blood.\u00a0 <\/span>It was transfused at over two hours.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

When I was finally able to get to the hospital the transfusion was in its last 45 minutes.\u00a0 <\/span>I wasn\u2019t seeing much improvement in her energy at that point.\u00a0 <\/span>Within another hour I\u2019d say her energy started picking up.\u00a0 <\/span>Those good ol\u2019 Red Cells sure do make a difference.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Dave called and Chloe was able to speak with him for ten minutes or so.\u00a0 <\/span>She was reluctant at first, as phone conversations tend to wear her out, however, this seemed to do the opposite.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Our plan was to go to the sky bridge on the 5th<\/sup> floor to watch the fireworks at 10 pm.\u00a0 <\/span>Originally I was told this was outside.\u00a0 <\/span>It turned out to be inside but way up there.\u00a0 <\/span>We wheeled Chloe in a chair, hauling \u201cHarold\u201d\u2026 the IV pole\u2026 along with us to the viewing area.\u00a0 <\/span>We were right in front of the Waterfront Blues Fireworks and we could see and hear well.\u00a0 <\/span>Chloe took a ton of pictures and had a great time.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

After leaving the sky bridge we had her walk to the room\u2026 and then take a lap around the unit.\u00a0 <\/span>When we went in the room I suggested we go try and pull up the YouTube that Colin put together.\u00a0 <\/span>Chloe jumped at the chance.\u00a0 <\/span>She wanted to see it as bad as we did.\u00a0 <\/span>Bummer, the security protections on the hospital computers prevented us from opening the video portion.\u00a0 <\/span>We left to go back to the room and Chloe wanted to take a side trip to the Starlite Room to look around.\u00a0 <\/span>We did, she did and we left for her room.\u00a0 <\/span>She all but ran back to the room.\u00a0 <\/span>I had to keep the IV pole moving!<\/span><\/p>\n

Back in the room I tried to pull the video up and it worked!\u00a0 <\/span>It\u2019s titled \u201cA strong little girl.\u201d So the three of us sat through a couple viewings of it.\u00a0 <\/span>Colin did a nice job\u2026 although he really needed to check his spelling.\u00a0 <\/span>Aaarrrgggg.\u00a0 <\/span>We\u2019ll have a little discussion with him later about the rest of his site I believe\u2026<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Vital signs tonight turned up a 100.1 temp.\u00a0 <\/span>This is still in range of being okay but it\u2019s more than we want to see.\u00a0 <\/span>We will watch it and see if it controls itself before adding any medicine to bring it down.<\/span><\/p>\n

Today was just another typical day in paradise.\u00a0 <\/span>One up, two down and a bunch sideways.\u00a0 <\/span>We are hopeful tomorrow will bring better news.<\/span><\/p>\n
