Last night Dana was awake all night fighting the fevers.\u00a0 <\/span>It would spike and she\u2019d ram some fever medication.\u00a0 <\/span>Nausea would show up and she\u2019d fight that back.\u00a0 <\/span>It was a back and forth battle all night.\u00a0 <\/span>Morning came and it started calming down.\u00a0 <\/span>Chloe has enough drugs in her little body to fight every germ Mexico.\u00a0 <\/span>Yet the mystery continues.\u00a0 <\/span>She slept a lot these last few days.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

At 3:30 pm Dana gave her a barrage of drugs at the prescribed times.\u00a0 <\/span>Six minutes later Chloe threw up the tube and all the meds.\u00a0 <\/span>Her temp was 102.5.\u00a0 <\/span>This is critical!\u00a0 <\/span>Dana called me in tears because we both knew what this meant.\u00a0 <\/span>She called the doctor and I jumped in the car to get over to the house.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

By the time I was almost there we knew the verdict.\u00a0 <\/span>Go to the emergency room and expect to be admitted.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

I carried Chloe up the stairs and put her in the car.\u00a0 <\/span>She was so weak that her voice, like it\u2019s been the past few days, was but a whisper.\u00a0 <\/span>Her grip around my neck was still firm but her energy is zero.\u00a0 <\/span>She has had no quality of life for quite some time now.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

At the emergency room they took three blood samples, two from the PIC lines and one from the other arm to compare.\u00a0 <\/span>They took a urine sample.\u00a0 <\/span>They took electrolyte samples, they took another test that I have never heard of before.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

She has a UTI on top of everything else now.\u00a0 <\/span>They hung a bag of saline to get her re-hydrated.\u00a0 <\/span>This brought her energy level up so she could make a complete sentence in a volume we could actually here.\u00a0 <\/span>That lasted about 10 minutes and she went south again.\u00a0 <\/span>Morphine, Antibiotics, Fluids, Anti-Nausea meds.\u00a0 <\/span>What are we doing wrong?\u00a0 <\/span>Maybe the easier question is What are we doing right?\u00a0 <\/span>Dana and I sure are wondering that a lot lately.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

The word came down they would keep Chloe until they figure out what\u2019s going on with the fever and infections.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Dana suggested I go back to the house to make sure Ivey was okay, as Colin and Lee were headed to Dave\u2019s house.\u00a0 <\/span>After bringing her emergency bag into the ER I kissed Chloe and told her I\u2019d see her tomorrow.\u00a0 <\/span>The same treatment was for Dana.\u00a0 <\/span>As I started to leave I looked back and Dana was about to fall apart.\u00a0 <\/span>We know how serious all this is and it\u2019s those really bad times that we can see it in each other\u2019s eyes.\u00a0 <\/span>We could see it in Chloe\u2019s eyes as well tonight.\u00a0 <\/span>I just won\u2019t let myself see it in my heart.\u00a0 <\/span>I still believe Chloe will heal and grow to be an old lady after doing so much for the world.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Dana\u2019s house is now ready to accept another hospital stay.\u00a0 <\/span>Ivey has full food and water.\u00a0 <\/span>The dishes are washed and food put away.\u00a0 <\/span>But none of that really matters that much to me at this point.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

God is.\u00a0 <\/span>I know that.\u00a0 <\/span>I know that Chloe is wrapped in his embrace.\u00a0 <\/span>I want to know that this will have a very happy ending soon.\u00a0 <\/span>I want Chloe to know it as well.\u00a0 <\/span>She and I promised each other that she will get well.\u00a0 <\/span>I intend to keep my promise and she is a little girl that is true to her word.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Pray for her.\u00a0 <\/span>The prayers will be answered.\u00a0 <\/span>See her healthy, whole and vibrant.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n
