Chloe was interested in writing this for herself …….until she got sidetracked on unwrapping a small snow cone machine.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Well there you go.\u00a0 It\u2019s all about the food, folks!<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

We have great news.\u00a0 We, (Dave, I , Chloe)\u00a0saw a dietician today at Legacy Emmanuel\u00a0Hospital and her recommendation after seeing the numbers and Chloe\u2019s appearance and food journal was a match.\u00a0 “Chloe, I think you are doing great!!!”\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Keep in mind Chloe checked into the hospital at a weight of 38lbs.\u00a0 Today, she weighed in at 52.8.\u00a0 Perhaps this is the last time we’ll put a number to this, as it means nothing without seeing such a physical energy change.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

With results like this we were informed to reduce the additional feeds, (cans of food put through her nose tube), to just 8 hours (at night).\u00a0 This is a reduction by 1\/2.\u00a0 She is on her way. Another appt is going to be set up with her regular physician in\u00a02 weeks to take the next step.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Chloe painted her toenails gold tonight and her fingernails silver.\u00a0 hum…………<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

There is still such sadness surrounding the death of Grandpa Nick, (Chloe called her best friend today and told me later, “she gets it” regarding the loss), and I would suspect there will be an unfolding of this for some time.\u00a0 I do acknowledge and am grateful for a moment we had last night as I searched for a phone message for Colin and I came across a long phone message from Grandpa Nick…for Colin on his birthday.\u00a0 Nick sang happy birthday to Colin, as was his tradition for all of us on our special day.\u00a0 It was so happily sent with joy and his usual…give everyone hugs\/tell them I love them\u00a0and make sure they reciprocate.\u00a0 Colin said to me as we bawled…Lets save it for all our birthdays!!”\u00a0 Of course!<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

When we went to our dietician appt today, we, on purpose found Dr Norwood, (per Chloe), and he came out and spoke to her for several minutes.\u00a0 His first reaction was “Wow, you look good, you’ve gained weight haven\u2019t you?”\u00a0 They have a special bond.\u00a0 She didn\u2019t quite have the gumption to tell him of his new nickname, per her,\u00a0 Dr Tonguewood.\u00a0 (see photo gallery please…..I think he has a strawberry in hand and this is a good day on Chloe\u2019s behalf, while in hospital . He is the type of Doc to do a silly thing for his patients\u2019 sake.\u00a0 Yes,\u00a0Some docs really ARE the bomb)<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

I know we were asked today more than once, what are you doing this summer?\u00a0 Any trips planned?\u00a0 I guess summer tried to slip away.\u00a0 We have just begun to know it and this is okay in light of what we lived.\u00a0 I know we appreciate sun more than we did before.\u00a0 I know we value love more than we did.\u00a0 Perhaps we don\u2019t know what lies ahead, if we ever did.\u00a0 A trip?\u00a0 Sure………..we took one, not one we wanted to but one we learned from.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Today, Chloe decided to put her experience into a research system.\u00a0 She told Dr Norwood” I don\u2019t want anyone to go through what I did, especially the pain”.\u00a0 Today, she\u00a0became the future of children who WON\u2019T have to brave what she did.\u00a0 She is registered into the Pacific Northwest Oncology Research system and the National system.\u00a0 We could be contacted in the future for details of her diagnosis and treatment.\u00a0 She had a complex recovery, which still remains a mystery to medical science in some regards.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Who knows a hero?\u00a0 You do.\u00a0 And her name is?????<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n
