Because We Love Her

February 6th, 2010 Posted in Daily News Post

Well, today was a day of control the pain and keep the spirits up. The night was the best so far, with both Dana and Chloe sleeping all night with only two small suctions needed. That, I’m sure, helped today’s results.

Activities were limited with speech and PT/OT being done in the room. She took a few trips to the bathroom and her walking is coming along. I’ve noticed she is getting her feet to pass each other on a regular basis, rather than just bringing the back foot to the front foot. She is also getting her right foot flatter on the floor than before. It used to come down on the outside edge of her foot most times.

She has spent a lot of time on her computer today. Everything from cooking websites to her own website were all perused. I’m sure Mama has received a few of the latest recipes.

She has needed a bit more suctioning this evening but I think we are still in for a much better night than I have seen in the past. Then, during her tooth brushing, I noticed her tongue movement was much more than I’ve seen in the past week. We keep making progress towards our final goal, perfect health.

Be well,
Ron

For History sake when Chloe writes her memoir, What Walls….she will remember yesterday when Julia(and I supported this) loaded her into her wheelchair so we could go downstairs for OT/PT….I wont forget Chloe’s face…the pain of moving her and her sitting upright…Julia said”I know you’re upset right now” to which Chloe spelled”I’m not upset, It’s PAIN”.

I don’t know how to gauge HER pain altho I understand Gut pain. One must get up a bit…get things moving the next day for sure after abdominal ‘surgery, babies” …

My instinct said it was the right decision but truthfully to see Chloe’s face, it was despondant…keep in mind she cant CRY. She makes only one sound, she also ..for the record cannot smell anything.

I’m asking for it ALL to come back. Not specifically just eating….I want the moon with her, don’t you?

Forgive me Chloe if I made you get up to soon yesterday.

I dreamed last night I could hear your voice.

Interesting, because I could have sworn she said something in the middle of the night, even though I know it’s not possible with the cuff up on the trach… or is it?

Everything is possible. and I believe. So many things are happening and they are happening fast….Chloe’s body is waking up with the light of sping. What is her middle name? Rose! Yes, a rose has a dormant time…but wen they blossom they blosssom. I heard her speak in my dreams last night (sorry Chloe not your finest moment–swear words don’t become you).

    WHAT WOULD CHLOE DO?

    MAKE IT HAPPEN!

    Love you hon!
